- What is the make and model of the fire alarm system? Simplex 3001
- Is there a fire alarm plan set available? The alarm system is design-build, so no plan sets will be available until the successful general contractor’s fire alarm subcontractor develops plans for it.
- The dates given exceed the 47 calendar days stated in item #4 of the special provisions. Should we use theAugust 16-November 4th dates to figure duration of the project at 80 calendar days instead of 47 calendar days? The listed dates in the Special Provisions take precedent over the calendar days stated. Bidders should use 80 calendar days for the project, August 16th, 2016 to November 4th, 2016.
- Please confirm that professional liability coverage will NOT be required for this project (Special Provisions section 11.5). Professional liability coverage will NOT be required for this project.

- Do the soffits on the exterior of the building need 5/8” drywall under the cement board soffit material? No.
- On sheet S-200 there are roof truss call outs #1 thru #27 nowhere can I find the legend that tells me what size material is expected with those call outs. For example is the Top cord 2x6 ? bottom cord 2x4? See attached truss drawings and calculations.
- I cannot find a section telling me what size trim is expected, (I) assume the larger is 5/4” x 6” (and the) smaller (is) 5/4” x 4” (at the) Barge rafters and eve trim 5/4” x 8”. “...no size called out. (That I can find) The dimensions listed in your question are correct.
- Plans call for SDWS x 12” from leveling beam to roof under truss bearing. Sheet S-200 has a note requiring 4” clearance between rood deck and bottom cord, my guess is that it will require 1 2x4 and 1 4x10 to achieve this or 11” total, what is the minimum bolt embedment into the existing top plates? DWS221500 0.220" x 15" 4 CUT Tip 2-3/4" is the largest I find on line. If an adequate length is not available for the build up, then screwing each lam of the build-up is the correct approach. For these types of screws, ensure two inches of threads into the receiving member.
- Please clarify the height of the reveal for the
exterior siding. The height listed in specifications section
074646 Part 2.1.A.3 is incorrect. Siding installed on
the new building should complement or closely
match the 7” +/ reveal of the siding on the
existing district office building immediately south
of the new building.
- Plan sheet S-200, note #2 says to "see truss calc package for more information." Will calcs be provided as part of the bid docs so we know who to solicit for a truss bid?. See District website for this project, “RFIs” section, under item #8 are truss drawings and calculations.
- Please confirm that interior non- bearing walls can be either wood or metal (framing). Confirmed. Details for both methods are shown on D2, it is left to the contractor’s discretion as to which system to use.
- (Sheet) A-5 note 11.05 (Pull down projector screen) where is (it) located and (what quantity is proposed)? The screen is at the north end of the conference room, 1 (one) is proposed.
- (Will) the (Owner) will pay for the … permits or will that (be) the responsibility of the contractor? The Owner will pay the permit fees.
- My estimator mentioned that he most likely would not be able to complete a project of this scope and in 80 calendar days (55 working days) …” Item # 4 in “Special Provisions” regarding “… Duration of Work” is revised to reflect 110 calendar days, rather than the 47 days listed there and amended to 80 calendar days in RFI # 4.
